Regular cleaning is essential for smooth running of
the machine and to maintain the hygienic standards of
the product.
- The safest way to clean your machine is using a
dry method, such as good quality paper towels or nylon
brushes dedicated for this purpose. Unscented alcohol-based
wipes are also suitable. For more information about
cleaning and where to purchase suitable cleaning materials,
contact your local Environment Health office.
- Never use an abrasive cleaner.
- Cleaning by a dry method reduces the risk of product
contamination by food poisoning bacteria and should
be the method of choice. If for any reason wet cleaning
cannot be avoided, mild dishwashing detergent is suitable
and it is vital that the machine is completely dry
before being reassembled and refilled. A minimum of
24 hours drying time is recommended to ensure that
all moisture has evaporated.
- Buffing the exterior components of the machine
can remove any remaining marks.
- Prior to the initial fill of the machine, it is
recommended to follow the above cleaning instructions.
- Unlock the machine and remove the lid. Carefully
remove the globe assembly from the machine, and pour
out the product into a suitable clean food grade container.
Try, where possible, to leave any product clippings/dust
in the bottom of the globe. Discard these separately.
- Unscrew the two side rods holding the globe to
the hopper. The globe will then lift free from the
assembly. Clean according to the instructions above.
- All moving parts should be maintained using food
grade, non-toxic lubricants such as vegetable oils
or vaseline.
- Reassemble the globe assembly , ensuring that the
flat side of the top ring sits snug inside the 4 raised
plastic lugs on the top of the globe.
- DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN LOCK.
